9th Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024, Schedule (All You Need To Know)

A nationwide inter-city franchise T20 tournament, the Pakistan Super League, was inaugurated in 2016. The Pakistan Super League (PSL) (also known as the HBL PSL for sponsorship reasons) is a men’s Twenty20 cricket league played by six city-based franchise teams. The league was established in 2015 by the Pakistan Cricket Board. Instead of operating as an association of independently owned teams, the league is a single entity in which each franchise is owned and controlled by investors.

Each team plays the group stage matches in a double all-play-all tournament format and the top four teams with the most points qualify for the playoffs, concluding in the final.

There have been eight seasons of the league. Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars, being the only teams to have won the title twice, are the most successful teams. The current champions Lahore Qalandars is the only team to successfully defend its title, after winning in the 2023 season.

PSL 2024

The 9th Pakistan Super League (PSL) will kick off on February 17, 2024.

The opening match will feature two-time winners and defending champions Lahore Qalandars against Islamabad United, the winners of the 2016 and 2018 editions.

This exciting and thrilling event will be hosted in four cities – Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi – culminating in the final at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi on 18 March.

Karachi will host 11 matches, including the Qualifier, two Eliminators, and the final. Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium and Rawalpindi’s Pindi Cricket Stadium will each host nine matches. Multan will witness five matches.

A highly anticipated contest between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings is scheduled for 24 February at Gaddafi Stadium, with another clash on 9 March at the National Bank Stadium.

Teams like Kings, Qalandars, Sultans, and United will play five matches at their respective home grounds. Peshawar Zalmi will play four matches at the Pindi Cricket Stadium, while Quetta Gladiators will play matches in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi, with one match at the Multan Cricket Stadium on 25 February.
