The 45th Film Festival of the Egyptian Film Society has announced that the Director of Cinematography Ahmad Al-Morsi (أحمد المرسي) won the Best Filming Award for “Diamond Dust (تراب الماس)”.
This is the fourth time that Morsi has won this award during his career, which has won 13 local and international awards so far, in addition to his membership in the Australian Association of Photographers (ASC) and the Canadian Association of Photographers (CSC), which he joined recently.
Al Mursi won the award for Sea Letters (2010), The Concert (2013) and The Blue Elephant (2014), one of the most successful Egyptian films in the last 10 years, with more than 35 million Egyptian pounds and about 1.2 million tickets in Egypt. El Morsi is currently filming his second part with director Marwan Hamed so that the Blue Elephant 2 is ready for display in the summer of 2019.

In addition to the photography award, “Diamond Dust” won the Best Actor award for Majid Al-Kadwani, Best Make-up for Tariq Mustafa, Best Music by Hisham Nazih, and Best Film of Choice by the Audience and Members of the Film Society.
