Informed sources said that the popular e-shopping site “Amazon” intends to launch soon to launch a consumer market in the Middle East from Dubai. The social networking sites heavily circulated yesterday a picture entitled “Souq.com is now Amazon” after Omar Kassem, the founder of Jadou Baddou, posted the picture on his Twitter page.
Qassem pointed out that the image is a snapshot of the amazon.ae demo site, which is usually used in the pre-launch phase of the sites for testing purposes and is usually a replica of the final site and is not yet open to the public. While there is no official comment from “Souq.com” about the matter yet, Amazon recently stated that it is making arrangements to provide more efficient service and increase sales opportunities that will help them grow their business. Amazon acquired a $ 580 million deal two years ago.
