Arab Media Forum 2023: Ertugral sensation Altan Düzyatan Hints at working in Dubai production

Globally acclaimed Turkish actor Engin Altan Düzyatan attended the 21st edition of the Arab Media Forum (AMF) that commenced on Tuesday. Düzyatan, best known for his lead role in the hit Turkish drama ‘Dirilis: Ertugrul’ (‘Resurrection: Ertugrul’), drew large audiences to his session at the region’s pre-eminent media gathering.

Fans could see him in a Dubai production soon, it was implied in the session.

During his session, he shared insights from his experiences as the lead actor in the historical TV series, discussed the future of television, and highlighted his dedication to humanitarian causes.

Addressing the audience, he said: “Right now we are talking about joint productions between Dubai and the Republic of Turkey as well as Latin American countries. Turkey is a culturally rich Mediterranean country where community and family hold immense importance. As we began to narrate our stories, other communities found elements of themselves reflected in our tales. Turkish series have gained significant popularity in various Latin American countries as well as across Arabic nations.” he said in a session titled ‘Conversations with Engin Altan’.

“I believe that the advances in the industry have paved the way towards potential joint projects and productions. When you look at the rates of TV series exported from Turkey and elsewhere in the world, you will understand that countries that buy these TV series from Turkey now understand that they could become partners in new joint projects with Turkey.

“Therefore, right now we are talking about the potential or the possibility of running these projects with other countries. This new idea is very exciting… And right now we are talking about potential projects with different countries, including Dubai.”

However, he also said that he was not at liberty to divulge details about the joint collaborations.

He also noted that drama productions help build cultural bridges that foster stronger ties between nations. “We can use such soft power to increase peace, facilitating cross-cultural connections and boost communication between people,” he said, noting that Turkey is the second largest exporter of TV series.
