With the pandemic on the rise, hysteria and fear have also become imbedded in people as isolation periods prolong. In an attempt to spread awareness and keep up the Morales, the Burj Khalifa lit up with news concerning coronavirus in an attempt to “flatten the curve”.
The message displayed across the skyscraper read “#StayHome” in bright letters.
The #StayHome Campaign debuted in the UAE encouraging citizens and residents to help halt the spread of the virus by staying in their homes. The campaign is among the several initiatives the country has launched to combat the spread of Covid-19. Many other countries have also come up with creative ways to spread awareness across masses.
Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum spoke out about the current pandemic and said “going forth, maintaining this status needs us ALL to urgently recognise the seriousness of the new reality we live in. We (Dubai) are not immune.”
Across UAE, police have been patrolling streets in an attempt to keep the civilians in their homes.
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA), asked the public to comply with the instructions issued by competent health and security authorities.
Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the world’s tallest skyscraper, also lit up previously in solidarity with the novel coronavirus-hit Italy.
