Businesses Warned to Register for UAE Corporate Tax before November 30

The Federal Tax Authority has reminded companies that before November 30, UAE corporate tax registrations should be completed, even for those firms issued with licenses in October and November, regardless of the year of issuance. Failure to comply with this deadline may attract administrative penalties.

The registration process is now conveniently done online through the EmaraTax digital tax services platform, and an applicant can do this in as little as 30 minutes. Corporations which are already registered for VAT or excise tax can go directly to their accounts on EmaraTax in order to complete their UAE corporate tax registration and receive a tax registration number.

Under the encouragement of this FTA, anyone who has not already registered will be prompted to set up a new account on the website with an email address and a mobile number. Following the successful establishment of the account, the user can then “Register for Corporate Tax” and complete the application as led. Alternatively, businesses can register through any of the government-approved tax agents listed on the FTA website or at government service centers in all emirates in the UAE, which provide electronic services as mandated by the government.

The FTA has also emphasized compliance where it mentioned Cabinet Decision No. 75 of 2023, which includes the administrative penalties for delay or contravention in relation to corporate tax registration pursuant to Federal Decree-Law No. 47 of 2022. Businesses are urged to act in a timely manner to avoid penalties and facilitate an effective registration process.
