Located at the heart of Downtown Dubai, and often called “the most prestigious square kilometre in the world,” the Dubai Opera is an iconic cultural venue in the form of a traditional dhow, able to host performances including theater, live music, galleries, and conferences in one of three different modes to suit the needs of the event.
One will know what to put on and how to get prepared before heading to attend a show at this awesome wonder.
Dress Code
Dubai Opera is the first to enforce strictly because it has a smart dress code. It therefore indicates that smart casual defines both women and men in wearing casuals while maintaining dress code requirements, meaning a:
- Men: A man must wear a suit. Though not a tuxedo.
- Women: The dress and overall outfit should be classically modest and not provocative, with a dress or an acceptable blouse and skirt or trousers.
- Forbidden: Flip flops, shorts, frayed jeans, and shreds of clothes. Awful and tattered clothing will not be allowed in that space.
Though one does not need to cover modestly, it is still appropriate to wear tops at least up to the elbow and bottoms that pass the knee. Clothes need to be classy; so bodyfitting clothing would not be allowed either. The dress code does not allow wearing ethnic or national dresses that are not UAE specific such as saris or Filipiniana at the premises.
Parking and Accessibility
- Parking: There is a guest parking area and one can opt for valet parking if he or she does not want to bother looking for a parking lot.
- Wheelchair Access: All areas of the Dubai Opera are wheelchair accessible. If you are a wheelchair user, there are special arrangements for seating you and a companion.
Ticketing and Seating
- Tickets: You can buy tickets at the official website of Dubai Opera.
- Seating capacity: The venue can sit 2,000.
- Best Seats: Front-row seats would be the best, as you will get to appreciate every expression of those who are performing. If sound quality is your top priority, then middle seats are the best seats as they have better acoustics.
Tips:
- Food Drinks are not brought from home inside the venue.
- Visitors are not allowed inside if they do not comply with the dress code. So make sure to check your dress code before you go to the venue.
From concerts and theatre performances to conferences, Dubai Opera offers world-class experiences. Remember to wear the right attire, purchase tickets in advance, and enjoy the show!
