Couple gets Engaged mid air Emirates Flight on Valentine’s Day

The phrase “Love is in the Air” got a literal implication when a couple got engaged at 38,000 feet, aboard an Emirates flight bound for Johannesburg.

Emirates played cupid and planned the proposal for the couple when “William” (husband to be) contacted the airline.

Emirates social media handles posted the video that shows William leading Vasti down the aisle of an A380 with rose petals guiding their way into the Onboard Lounge before William got done on one knee and declared his love for Vasti. Captioned: “Love is flying better on Emirates.”

Watch Vasti say ‘YES’ to William’s romantic proposal in our A380 Onboard Lounge”.

The proposal took place onboard an A380 on its way to Johannesburg from Dubai.

Vasti accepted the proposal and the couple embraced and toasted to the happy occasion in the bar that had been showered with rose petals and bubbles.

Emirates documented the whole scene with “Emirates Love Stories, she said yes on the A380,” starts the video, “Vasti always dreamt of a romantic proposal in the air and William the love of her life made it happen with the help of our cabin crew onboard an Emirates A380 to Johannesburg. Here’s wishing them all our love,” it added, before saying “Share your Emirates love stories with us: lovestory@emirates.com.”

Emirates is no strange to such proposal happening onboard as previously a couple, Stuart Mackinnon decided to propose to Victoria Loudon at 35,000 feet, aboard an Emirates flight bound for Brisbane.

“It was always going to be a truly special moment in my life but what happened took it to a level I could never have imagined. There could have been no better setting anywhere in the world. The nerves I had were put at ease with the fantastic crew members, the Captain and all the passengers,” said Mackinnon in a statement.

Emirates also wished Valentines to everyone on Instagram, saying: “Love is flying better on Emirates,” read the post. “Watch Vasti say ‘YES’ to William’s romantic proposal on our A380 Onboard Lounge. We’re celebrating love this February with ‘Emirates Love Stories,’ a series of heart-warming fan moments. Share your #EmiratesLoveStory with us.”
