Darbat Huts: A thriving Omani youth-led tourism enterprise

 

Muscat: Darbat Huts, in Dhofar Governorate, require a special mention when it comes to innovative design solutions after being turned into one of the most popular and perspective sightseeing projects in the Sultanate of Oman that contributed to the boost of Wadi Darbat’s attractiveness.

Few young Omanis initiated the project and it is fairly new to Oman, however, it has offered a good concept of zones intended for resting and leisure sitting while being intrinsically connected to nature.

As there appeared no spaces for families and individuals to escape from other visitors on the experiences, the project’s purpose was to provide small luxurious areas with a view of Wadi Darbat. From three huts last season, nine huts were built this season where they distinguished between them by the difference in designs and the inclusion of more amenities.
