Dubai Airport All Set to Open Travel to 9 New Destinations This Winter

World’s biggest airport is set to become busier this winter.

There are now 4,400 flights (one-way) operating out of DXB every week, marking a 20 percent surge from the previous winter season.

The new services and increased frequencies to our winter schedule reaffirms our commitment to growing DXB as a major hub and further positioning the airport as a dynamic and competitive player in the global aviation landscape,” said Rob Whitehouse, vice-president for research at Dubai Airports.

DXB is the busiest hub for both passengers and in terms of connectivity in the world, according to Airports Council International.

Airlines that have joined the fleet include Aegean Airlines, Air Canada, Batik Air, Eurowings, Transavia, Virgin Atlantic and TUS Airways.

Planning a winter holiday with the family? Now you have more options for places to go and flights to take from Dubai International Airport (DXB) than ever before. The winter season, especially in the run-up to Christmas and New Year, has always been among the busiest periods for DXB — with expats flying out to be with families and thousands visitors coming to the city for the holidays. The airport would usually send out peak travel alerts to help passengers prepare for the holiday rush.

New Destinations:

Here’s a look at your new destination options from DXB:
Aegean Airlines now flies to Athens.
Air Canada will connect DXB to Vancouver.
Batik Air flies to Kuala Lampur.
Eurowings added two destinations – Berlin and Stuttgart – to its list.
Transavia flies to Lyon and Marseille.
Virgin Atlantic Airways will connect you to London.
TUS Airways flies to Larnaca.
