Dubai Announces Exciting Prizes for Workers at New Year’s Eve Celebrations

In a new initiative to celebrate the diligent work and service bequeathed to the city by its employees, the city will stage an extraordinary New Year’s Eve event that would see workers draw lots for exciting prizes for workers like cars, gold bars, travel tickets, and electronic devices. This unique event aimed at celebrating the efforts of the workforce that brings together and sustains marvelous Dubai would take place across seven points in Dubai.

Labor New Year, with multifaceted entertainment operations like music live show performances, will accommodate an audience of up to 10,000 viewers. The announcement was made at a press conference held by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai. Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the GDRFA, stated this would be one of the annual celebrations through which Dubai shows appreciation for the contributions of these individuals in making the place great and building up the city.

“This event expresses the gratitude of the UAE and the city of Dubai to this segment of society,” said Al Marri, adding that the achievement in 2025 will be a spectacular showing event full of joy and hope for the upcoming year.

This is a major level-up compared to previous years. While last year’s show was marked by celebrations held in three different locations, this year’s will be spread over seven venues, including Al Quoz, Al Muhaisnah, and Jebel Ali. The main show will be hosted at Al Quoz in the amphitheater that can host about 10,000 guests. Given the expanded entertainment program, the event promises to be full of excitement and fun, with added entertainment segments and activities.

All the attendants of the event will be awarded, as an incentive for participation, 48 hours of complimentary internet connectivity exceeding five gigabytes of data for a seamless, connected celebration. Also, it will provide more than 100 mobile phones to winners, one of whom will go home with the grand prize of up to Dh500,000 through Du’s application.

Starting in the afternoon at 3 pm, they will celebrate well into the night, which will be capped off by an extravagant celebration that would not only mark the coming of the New Year but also remind Dubai’s diverse workforce that has helped drive its growth.

The celebrations this year have only initiated various events that would be celebrated during all of the other festivals throughout the year, including more festivities for Eid and major events throughout the year.
