The comprehensive plan, aims to make Dubai one of the top cities of the world in terms of education by introducing a world class education system in which everyone no matter who they are or where they belong from can learn, prosper and grow.
The Education Strategy 2033 is designed to nurture students’ lifelong learning, providing them with modern world class skills, promoting national talent while keeping them rooted in Emirati values, making sure that both heritage and diversity remains an important part of learning.
Earlier this week, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) revealed further details of Education 33 (E33). Aisha Miran, Director of KHDA, at a press conference at Government of Dubai Media Office said: “Education 33 reflects the forward-thinking vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to empower future generations with the skills, knowledge, and values needed to lead in an ever-evolving global environment. This landmark strategy will consolidate Dubai’s status as a global hub for education and innovation.”
E33 strategy includes certain KPIs, this include about 90% satisfaction of families regarding education options available in Dubai with about 49,000 seats growth in affordable schools across Dubai. It also aims to make 3000 Emirati teachers/instructors part of local workforce by 2033.
E33 main aim is to focus on five strategic goals:
- inclusivity of education, accessible for everyone, regardless of religion, class, or financial ability.
- Collaborating with families, asking for their support for the system of education for a good learning environment.
- A world-class education system, with the top notch schools and globally recognized universities reducing the percentage of local student flying abroad to seek education alongside attracting students from all over the world.
- Encouraging creative/innovative zones, incorporating modern educational tools such as Artificial Intelligence – “Education is evolving with new tech such as Artificial Intelligence and the goal is to stay up to date,” Aisha said.
- Educating families about certain healthy habits such as reading, good nutrition.
Introduction of ‘Game Changer’ initiative includes project that will focus on Emirati Culture and values, encouraging Arabic Language as a language of choice; creating a journey that includes diverse pathways for students including quality standards of training and vocational institutes that are internationally accredited.
The strategy was made in consultation with education experts, key investors and stakeholders including more than 700 participants comprising of wellbeing leaders, Emirati and expatriate parents, educators, sharing their valuable point of views that played a major role in shaping this new vision. The Education Strategy 2033 will ensure that the coming generation is all set to lead and shape the future of Dubai.
