Dubai Frame to Undergo a Major Transformation

The Dubai Frame is due for a major renovation, as announced by Dubai Municipality during the Arabian Travel Mart (ATM) on Monday. Ahmed Ibrahim Al Zarouni, Head of the Public Parks and Recreational Facilities Department, revealed that the renovation will include a new exhibition, showcasing how Dubai will look in 50 years. The work is expected to be completed by the end of next year and will open to the public soon after.

At present, the Dubai Frame takes visitors on a journey through the creation of Dubai from its origins to its current state, explaining the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The lift then rises to the viewing platform, where a glass floor looks down at the ground below and a cafe is located. The new exhibition will be situated on the ground floor of the Dubai Frame.

The Dubai Frame is situated within Zabeel Park and is a towering 150 meters high. This iconic landmark provides a breathtaking view of the city’s landscape from a bird’s eye perspective. On one side, it offers a glimpse into the city’s rich history, while the other side showcases the modern and glamorous present of Dubai.

Although an official date for the start of the renovation has not yet been confirmed, visitors will still be able to access the attraction while work is underway, as only part of the mezzanine floor will be closed off. On this floor, an exhibition traces the emirate’s rise from a small fishing village to the bustling commercial hub it is today.

According to officials, the upcoming exhibition will add a whole new dimension to the Dubai Frame, providing a unique and interactive experience. The exhibition will showcase how Dubai will look in 50 years, following Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision. It will feature special audiovisual shows and effects, making it a must-see attraction for visitors to Dubai.
