Dubai Introduces ‘AI Seal’ Certification for Government Partnerships

A new certification effort dubbed the ‘Dubai AI Seal,’ has been launched in Dubai primarily to assure trust within artificial intelligence (AI) companies while enhancing their roles in government-business partnerships. The household initiative has been introduced under the guidance of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to create a trustworthy network of AI companies that provide secure and reliable AI solutions to public authorities and business enterprises.

The Dubai AI Seal will add value for companies certified by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI), as it will allow them to have a competitive advantage during government procurements and national projects. The certification is a USP that will be required in all government projects henceforth. The seal can be displayed on websites and marketing materials as a demonstration of an organization’s credibility and prowess in AI.

All members/companies certified for the Dubai AI Seal will be given their unique serial number and classification for authenticity. Applications for the certification can be made online and free of charge by technology companies licensed in Dubai that provide AI services or products through the official website of DCAI: www.dub.ai.

6 main tiers of companies based on the nature of their activities and servicers, their current and future projects, and their economic contribution to the artificial intelligence sector.

Applications will be evaluated by the DCAI based on the nature of the company activities and services, number of AI specialists in the workforce, ongoing and future projects, and existing public-private partnerships of the company. This process ensures that only the best and most trustworthy AI firms are selected for the Dubai AI Seal.

According to Khalfan Belhoul, Chief Executive Officer, Dubai Future Foundation (the body that oversees DCAI), this initiative will provide an essential stimulus to strengthen partnership between public and private sectors, both in the local space and on a global scale. It is an initiative that focuses on creating new avenues of economy by making AI provision something that can benefit Dubai’s economy, society, and future growth.

The Dubai AI Seal is hoping to enhance the credence that AI companies possess in the region while attracting new investment and generating jobs. This initiative strengthens the fact that the AI sector is growing more and more economically important and lucrative, thereby making it the major driver of technological advancement and economic growth in the future for Dubai.
