The director of Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) Mattar Al Tayer has revealed at the opening session of the UITP MENA Transport Congress and Exhibition on Monday that Dubai is now ready for the sky-high service.
He said that Dubai will continue to expand its already sprawling public transport network, employing latest technologies and innovation.
The world’s first automatic flying taxi was tested first time in September 2017. This is a two person taxi which are capable of reaching speeds of 100 kilometers an hour. The vehicles will be powered by clean electricity. The two meter tall taxis are fitted with emergency parachutes. One cab takes about 40 minutes to fully charge and can run for 30 minutes at a cruise speed of 50kmh.
Al Tayer also revealed that Dubai is now ready for Hyperloop systems which is under way in Abu Dhabi.
