Dubai Launches New Health Insurance Plan for Seniors with Premiums Starting at Dh16,700

Dubai launched its new health insurance specifically tailored to cater to the health care of its senior residents, hence making comprehensive health services easily available to them. Vibrance Senior health insurance scheme is being marketed through a joint venture with Aster DM Healthcare and Dubai Insurance. The scheme allows medical services ranging from simple preventive health checkups to advanced health treatments for the elderly in specific manners to be availed.

Annual premiums for Vibrance Senior will range from Dh16,693 to Dh27,591, depending on the beneficiary’s age. For a 65-69 year old, the premium will be Dh16,693. For a 70-74 year old, it is Dh22,146. A person aged 75-79 will have to pay Dh27,591 as a premium. These are just indicative and based on an individual’s medical history.

Two plans are provided with the options, one includes Dh3,000 per year with a 20% co-pay in pharmacy and the other has a Dh5,000 limit for pharmacy. Some common benefits of both are annual limits up to Dh150,000, full health screening for free at home within 30 days after policy activation, and emergency coverage.

Seniors can also consult and follow up from home with the help of the telehealth platform, TruDoc. The innovative feature allows personalized data-driven care plans to be monitored remotely. Healthcare support is available 24/7 through an app or a phone, which can be used to manage chronic diseases and minimize unnecessary outpatient visits.

Abdellatif Abuqurah, CEO of Dubai Insurance, said the plan ensures that seniors receive quality care, while Alisha Moopen, managing director of Aster DM Healthcare, said the initiative aims to improve the quality of life for seniors in Dubai by providing them with comprehensive, accessible healthcare services. The new plan is designed to lower healthcare costs for seniors, offering a competitive alternative to similar schemes, which typically start at Dh25,000 annually.
