Dubai May Soon Welcome the World’s Second-Tallest Tower with a Vertical Mall

Dubai is adding one more gem to its increasingly impressive skyline with Burj Azizi. Set to be the world’s second-tallest tower, Burj Azizi is expected to be taller than 679m, which is the height of Malaysia’s Merdeka 118, once it is completed by 2028.

According to the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, the second-tallest tower in Dubai is Marina 101, which stands at 425m in height, while the third tallest is the Princess Tower, also in Dubai Marina, which is 413m talk. For 14 years now, the Burj Khalifa remains the tallest building in Dubai and the world, with a height of 828m. To be the second-tallest in the emirate, Burj Azizi must surpass the height of the Franck Muller Aeternitas tower, the world’s tallest residential clock tower which was announced recently.

The Burj Azizi has a US$1.5 billion budget and will feature a glazed exterior made up of multiple rectangular forms. Construction on Burj Azizi has begun, with Azizi Developments revealing a few details about the plans for the mega project. The tower will be located on Sheikh Zayed Road alongside other landmarks opposite the World Trade Centre. Inside Burj Azizi, visitors will find luxury residences and penthouses, a vertical shopping mall spread across several floors, a “seven-star” hotel, luxury residences, an observation deck, and several high-end and fine dining restaurants, and an observation deck to take in the views.

“Today is a special day as we finally break ground on one of my dream projects in Dubai.
