The Sharjah Centre for Astronomy and Space Sciences (SCASS) has announced the date for Eid Al Adha this year. It is expected to begin on Wednesday August 22, 2018. The government announces a four-day break for the public sector and a three-day break for the private sector in UAE.
Eid Al Adha is a festival celebrated among Muslims all over the world in remembrance of the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS). A four day festival in Islamic calendar is starting on the 10th day of the month of Zhil Hajj. Muslims celebrate this “Holy festival of sacrifice” after Hajj.
The first day of Ramadan will be on Thursday May 17. Eid Al Fitr would therefore begin on Friday, June 15. Hajj days will be starting from Sunday August 12, Arafat will be on Monday August 20 and Eid Al Adha holidays will be starting from Wednesday August 22.
