Emaar Properties has announced that starting May 2024, the iconic Dubai Fountain will be closed for five months for renovation. Famous for its magical water, light, and music shows that attract millions yearly, the Dubai fountain, located in Downtown Dubai near the Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa, is one of the UAE’s hottest tourist attractions.
The UAE’s largest property developer further stated that the renovation would focus on improving choreography, lighting, and sound systems to offer an even more immersive experience to the visitors; and while the fountain is only being temporarily shut down, the company offered the assurance that the upgraded version of the fountain will come back with more fanfare. “We are creating a more immersive show that will be an even greater spectacle,” said Emaar.
Mohamed Alabbar, Founder of Emaar, stressed the importance of the Dubai Fountain not only as a tourist attraction but as an expression of the city’s artistic and innovative spirit. “Dubai Fountain is more than a spectacle — it is a reflection of Dubai’s soul, where art, innovation, and emotion come together in perfect harmony,” he added.
The Dubai Fountain symbolizes the city’s commitment to creating attractions for the world. Visitors are mesmerized by the fantastic choreographed display of water in unison with music. The fountain’s present configuration already features over 6,600 lights and 25 color projectors, rendering it one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in the UAE; however, these improvements will push the experience even further.
Post-renovation guests will enjoy this newly elevated show that incorporates cutting-edge technology and artistic choreography to support the fountain as one of the true wonders of water displays in the world. Sure, the renovation will take a while, and it is going to be tough to miss the Dubai Fountain, but the upcoming changes ensure that the welcoming back of the fountain show would be a truly extraordinary experience later this year.
