Emirates first-class check-in at Dubai International Airport (DXB) is undergoing a major refurbishment and has been closed for an indefinite period until June 2025. The airline announced that it will transform the space into a regal private lounge from which check-in will proceed through the private doors, thereby augmenting the experience for passengers traveling in premium.
Meanwhile, while this refurbishment is taking place, first-class travelers flying to the U.S. or other destinations will be able to use alternative check-in desks at Terminal 3.
The airline guaranteed that its signature services like fast-track security and personalized escorting would continue to be offered to first-class passengers, even during the temporary closure.
Rebuilt, the first-class check-in style ensures a high degree of exclusivity and glamour. In other words, the ambiance is open and serene, with soft sofas and personal check-in service along the way to guarantee the passenger has a seamless start to the journey. The airline stressed that first-class passengers will still have a chauffeur-driven car service to the airport.
This investment is just one example of the airline’s ongoing commitment to providing an exceptional on-board experience. The airline operates seven lounges at DXB’s flagship Terminal 3, including three for first-class passengers and three for business-class passengers. Emirates opened another lounge for premium customers recently.
Emirates invested Dh44 million in the expansion and refurbishment of its worldwide lounge system in the first half of the fiscal year 2024-25, including new signature lounges at London Stansted and Jeddah airports and upgrades to its Paris Charles De Gaulle facility, the airline stated in its first-half financial report.
With more and more first-class travelers considering its premium services, Emirates remains committed to luxury. For the period from April to September 2024, the airline carried 26.9 million passengers, a 3 percent increase against the same season a year earlier.
Emirates has promised further updates regarding the reopening of the exclusive first-class check-in lounge and its new features.
