HBO announces that the pilot of the Game of Thrones prequel has found his director and unveils the list of actors who join Naomi Watts.
SJ Clarkson ( The Defenders, Jessica Jones) will lead the pilot of the Game of Thrones prequel. Actress Naomi Watts is joined in the cast by Josh Whitehouse, Naomi Ackie, Denise Gough, Jamie Campbell Bower, Sheila Atim, Ivanno Jeremiah, Georgie Henley, Alex Sharp, and Toby Regbo.

The big-budget spin-off is a creation of Jane Goldman and George RR Martin and is written by Jane Goldman from a story by Jane Goldman and George RR Martin. Still untitled, the series will take place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones. The series tells the descent of the world since the golden age of heroes to its darkest hour. The series will return to the horrific secrets of Westeros’ story to the true origin of the white walkers, from the mysteries of the Orient to the legend of the legendary Starks family.
Jane Goldman is a Showrunner and executive producer alongside George RR Martin and Vince Gerardis, executive producer of Game of Thrones, and Daniel Zelman, co-creator and executive producer (Damages, Bloodline).

The untitled project of George RR Martin and Jane Goldman is one of the five Game of Thrones previews that HBO had put in development, signing agreements with five writers to join George RR Martin in the development and writing of five spin -Offs of the highly successful fantasy series that do not feature the characters of Game of Thrones . The other four authors are Max Borenstein, Brian Helgeland, Cary Wray, and Bryan Cogman.
The prequel of Game of Thrones could be released from 2020.
