The Gold Souk is one of Dubai’s most visited attractions, Around 800 shops are selling jewellery made from gold, silver, diamonds and other precious metals and stones.
The oldest Deira market needs some aesthetic touches and architectural changes.
The renovations will be carried out across the souq, fixed the flooring, add more fans and conduct some maintenance in shops.
The second phase of renovations will start next year.
A preliminary assessment of health and safety standards has been conducted in the Gold Souq and focus will be given to recommend the use of equipment and materials that are adaptive to the climatic conditions.
