The I-PACE put Jaguar at the forefront of the electric car revolution
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – The all-electric Jaguar I-PACE will be present this year at the Dubai International Motor Show, where car enthusiasts will enjoy first-hand knowledge of the luxury car company that has entered history, with the Jaguar I-PACE breaking a record in April 2019. It became the first car to win three World Car of the Year awards, after receiving the World Car of the Year, World Green Car and World Design.
To highlight its historic trilogy, the Jaguar I-PACE will be proud to showcase the ‘World Car of the Year’ near it, as visitors learn about it and discover why Jaguar has won the I-PACE 69 awards around the world.
The Jaguar I-PACE is now available for demand in the Middle East and North Africa in Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, and Morocco and will be available in the rest of the region in the coming months.
Speaking about the all-electric Jaguar I-PACE, Professor Ralph Speth, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover, said:
“We started perfectly, moving towards the ‘zero destination’ vision; zero emissions, zero accidents, and zero congestion. The I-PACE is our first step towards this vision, and its idea came when electric cars were just a non-mainstream option.”
“So we started from a white paper to create a new milestone – the world’s best premium electric car, and at the same time really suited Jaguar drivers. That our first electric car deserves.”
Bruce Robertson, General Manager, Jaguar Land Rover, Middle East, and North Africa, said:
“It is a great honor to bring the Jaguar I-PACE to a prestigious event such as the Dubai International Motor Show, where we showcase the car that continues to redefine the electric car.
We have no doubt that the innovative I-PACE will attract a lot of attention at the Dubai International Motor Show, especially among those interested in environmental issues. This car is highlighted at an appropriate time in Dubai and the region. In this emirate, both the private and public sectors have shown a commitment We are keen to work to reduce carbon emissions by 16% in 2021. Jaguar I-PACE is an excellent example of how the automotive sector – and Jaguar – will contribute in the future to these goals and their role in achieving the UAE’s vision for a sustainable future.”
Visitors to the Jaguar Pavilion at the Dubai International Motor Show can see the car that has an unmatched appearance and performance on the roads today.
The I-PACE uses an advanced lithium-ion battery consisting of 432 follicular cells with a capacity of 90 kWh and a range of 470 km (according to the standard global driving test for light vehicles WLTP). The owners of the Jaguar I-PACE will be able to charge the battery from zero to 80% in just 40 minutes using the fast DC charger (100 kW). The car battery can be charged at home using a wall AC plug (7 kW) and the same charge level within 10 hours, which is typical for overnight charging.
On the road, the car delivers the exceptional performance of 400 horsepower and 696 Nm of torque, as well as all-wheel drive and traction on all surfaces, thanks to two Jacquard electric motors on each of the axles. The Jaguar I-PACE helps achieve the same performance as a conventional sports car, starting from steady to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds.
The I-PACE was awarded the ‘Best Design in the World’ for its coupe-like appearance inspired by the luxury Jaguar C-X75 sports car. It features a low-bonnet SUV design, an aerodynamically optimized roof with curved rear windscreen. This upright design contrasts with a square background, helping to reduce the traction coefficient to 0.29. The smart design combines cooling with aerodynamics, with ‘active blades’ in the front ventilation grid, which opens when more cooling is needed, and otherwise close, to direct air through the air intake integrated into the hood and make the airflow smoothly.
