List of Traffic Fines in Dubai Updated 2019

Did you get caught for traffic violations? Here’s a driver’s guide to Dubai Traffic Fines List.

General Fines

  • Driving under the influence of drugs or similar substances: Fine and jail term determined by the court, 23 black points and confiscation 60 days
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol: set by the court, maximum AED 20,000 fine, 23 black points and confiscation 60 days
  • Driving a vehicle without number plates: AED 3,000, 23 black points, confiscation 90 days
  • Jumping a red light: AED 1,000, 12 black points, confiscation 30 days
  • Drivers distracted by mobile phones: AED 800, four black points
  • Carrying and transporting passengers illegally: AED 3,000, 24 black points
  • Driving dangerously: AED 2,000, 23 black points, confiscation 60 days
  • Driving a noisy vehicle: AED 2,000, six black points
  • Exceeding permissible level of 50 percent car window tinting: AED 1,500
  • Not revitalizing vehicle registration once expiry: AED 500, confiscation seven days (if it’s been expired for over 3 months)
  • Allowing youngsters beneath 10 years old or shorter than 145cm to sit in the front seat of a vehicle: AED 400, four black points
  • Failure to fasten seat belt while driving: AED 400, four black points
  • Driving without valid insurance or registration: AED 500, four black points, confiscation seven days
  • Expired tires: AED five hundred, four black points, arrogation seven days
  • Throwing garbage on the road from the car: AED 1,000, six black points
  • Using quad-bike on road: AED 3,000, confiscation 90 days
  • Jaywalking: AED 400
  • Overtaking on the hard shoulder: AED 1,000, six black points
  • Not leaving a safe distance between vehicles: AED 400, four black points
  • Sudden swerving: AED 1,000, four traffic points
  • Blocking traffic: AED 1,000, six black points

Speeding Fines, over limit:

  • 80km/h: AED 3,000, 23 black points, confiscation 60 days
  • 60km/h: AED 2,000, 12 black points, confiscation 30 days

If you’re going over a speed limit more than:

  • 60km/h: AED 1,500, six black points, confiscation 15 days
  • 50km/h: AED 1,000
  • 40km/h: AED 700
  • 30km/h: AED 600
  • 20km/h: AED 300
