Maersk launches its largest Logistics Park at Jeddah Islamic Port in Saudi Arabia

 

Jeddah: Maersk in collaboration with the General Ports Authority of Saudi Arabia ‘Mawani’ announced today that the biggest Logistics Park for Maersk in the Middle East is to be at Jeddah Islamic Port.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by His Excellency, the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Ports Authority, Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, Chairman of the Authority, Omar bin Talal Hariri, Vincent Clerc, CEO A.P. Moller – Maersk, Richard Morgan, Managing Director, Maersk Indian Subcontinent, MEA, Mohammad Shihab, Managing Director,

“The Saudi ports sector is making and experiencing unprecedented and remarkable changes in terms of a high level of operational performance, records in internationally recognized indicators in the growth of lines of navigation, and an increase in maritime access to the countries of the world. The Maersk Logistics Park in Jeddah Islamic port will support service and development in meeting the needs of the economic activity of the Kingdom and provide highly efficient logistic solutions to support trade mobility and export to other countries and support the work of supply chain and logistics.”

The Maersk Logistics Park extends over an area of 225,000 square meters and provides for truly integrated logistics solutions under one roof with the provision for:

  • Integration of ocean transport, transport by land and air transport.
  • Materials handling services to meet business-to-business and electronic commercial needs
  • Temperature-controlled warehousing
  • Custom-bonded setup
  • Specifically developed for several sectors and sub-sectors such as FMCG, Frozen Food, Automobiles, Retail & Lifestyle, Petrochemicals, Electronics & Electrical, Pharmaceuticals etc.
  • Some of the distribution solutions that entail first and last mile transportation.
  • Customs clearances, visibility solutions and the control tower.
