Top 5 This Week

More than 50,000 passengers travelled with Oman Air to Salalah in July

In continuation of Oman Air’s decades-long mission to advertise Khareef Dhofar and champion national causes, the firm has undertaken several moves to enhance connectivity to Salalah.

Offering a maximum of 11 flights a day at optimum times there has also been an upgrade of several of the flights to wide-bodied aircraft and this has precipitated an increase in additional over 4,500 seats for the season.

Over 50 thousand guests have been flown into the city by Oman Air in July alone, and well over 70% of the passengers use fixed national fare tickets.

The Ministry of Tourism in Oman carries out this unique ‘Khareef Festival’, also known as the ‘Salalah Tourist Festival’, to celebrate the spectacular season in Oman. It features individual traditional performances, lip-smacking local Omani cuisines, and beautiful handicrafts.

“Salalah during Khareef is one of the most valuable tourism products in Oman and as a carrier that has tourism as one of its strategic pillars we remain committed to supporting the product and ensuring that it receives the right promotion in line with its development objectives for the country this Khareef we have deployed the most planes to ensure that we have the most frequencies to Salalah than any other airline,” Mike Rutter the Oman Air’s Chief Commercial Officer told the media.

“In addition, to facilitate the Omani citizens and Shaikh rent-a-car Customers and the continued offering of a convenient, inexpensive, and reliable means of transport between Muscat Salalah and other parts of the Sultanate and beyond, our fixed fares remain constant for the entire year thus allowing more families to attend weddings, funerals, and other events without worrying about the ever-rising fares.”

Selling at RO 54 return during the Khareef season and RO 64 at other times of the year, the fixed national fare can only be booked via the airline’s website and smartphone application.

As for the Omani national fares, there is no cap on the number available in the market; however, the seats are very quickly being taken, and guests are urged to make their reservations as early as possible.

The airline also operates with cheap fares for non-Oman population or individuals from other countries.
