Sharjah Ruler, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, has announced the new venue for Sharjah International Book Fair, one of the world’s largest literary events. News reports state that it will be situated on Emirates Road, opposite the Sharjah Mosque. This venue will dedicate a space for the annual event that attracts publishers, authors, as well as readers across the globe.
This development forms part of continued efforts to expand the fair’s facilities and host its growing popularity. SIBF has been held for several years at Expo Centre Sharjah, which is one of the best exhibition venues in the emirate. The new venue will be able to offer even more space and facilities to host the diverse programs and large crowds of exhibitors.
The 43rd Sharjah International Book Fair came to a close on 17 November with thousands of visitors and hundreds of participating exhibitors engaging in literary events, book launches, and discussions. Such relocation into a venue of greater size is, therefore, seen to further add to the increase in the fair’s reach and impact, further affirming Sharjah as one of the preeminent global centers of culture.
Sharjah Media Office commented that this new venue will be developed to meet the increasing demands of the fair, ensuring smooth and enriching experiences for all participants and attendees for years to come.
