Public/ National Holidays in UAE for 2019 – Dubai, Abu Dhabi and other Emirates

Being a working person we all wish for some extra paid holidays and if these are national holidays they add up to the happy moments as everyone looks for an opportunity to spend some good quality time with there family.

The list includes the official UAE holidays in 2019, as well as the Islamic holidays that are dependent on moon sightings, like Ramadan and both Eids.

Public holiday dates in 2019 can differ as we move forward with the upcoming occasions and to also to know in the UAE, weekends are Friday and Saturday.

The good thing is a public holiday can be moved towards the weekend. In the beginning or end if it comes in the middle of two working days which ultimately gives you a long weekend to enjoy with families.

After the new year started it seems like UAE residents and nationals can have the first UAE public holiday of 2019 as early as April.

Sunday, 11th August: Arafat (Haj) Day
Monday, 12th August: Eid Al Adha
Tuesday, 13th August: Eid Al Adha holiday
Wednesday, 14th August: Eid Al Adha holiday
Sunday, 1st September: Hijri (Islamic New Year)
Sunday, 10th November: Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday
Saturday, 30th November: UAE Commemoration Day
Monday, 2nd December: UAE National Day
Tuesday, 3rd December: UAE National Day holiday

After the new years holiday, the upcoming holidays are mostly Islamic occasions which can be changed according to the moon.

Like the occasion of Miraj when Allah took the Prophet at night from Makkah to Jerusalem and then to heaven above.

After this comes Ramadan and Eid ul Fitr, followed by Hajj the most prestigious event in Islam along with Eid u Adha. Then comes the National day celebrations in the UAE with full zest.
