Qatar Airways Brings in Sama 2.0, The Improved World’s First AI Cabin Crew in ATM Dubai 2024

Qatar Airways has upgraded the world’s first AI digital human cabin crew, known as Sama, with a second-generation version called Sama 2.0. The airline will showcase this upgraded version at the upcoming Arabian Travel Market in Dubai in 2024.

Sama 2.0 will interact with attendees and industry experts, highlighting its latest development that assists fliers through its platform. As an AI cabin crew member, Sama 2.0 acts as an assistant for Qatar Airways passengers, providing additional support beyond what human flight attendants can offer. This brings the power of machine learning to the planes.

Qatar Airways will showcase its latest digital innovation, Sama 2.0, at the Dubai World Trade Center annual exhibition from May 6 to 9, 2024. This holographic virtual cabin crew is designed to assist travelers with real-time inquiries, curated travel experiences, and FAQs related to destinations and support tips. During the event, customers can interact with Sama 2.0 at the Qatari Airways pavilion in Hall No.2, or virtually through the airline’s immersive digital platform QVerse or its mobile app.

Qatar Airways recently appointed Badr Mohammed Al-Meer as group CEO, replacing long-time CEO Akbar Al Baker.

“Based on the demand from certain sectors, we see a high demand for First Class, and as such, have decided to introduce a newly-designed First Class cabin unique to Qatar Airways. We are combining the experience of flying commercial and executive jets to develop something new. We are 70 to 80 percent ready and are only finalizing colors. We are hoping to announce it soon,” said Al-Meer.
