Roger Federer starts Practice Sessions at Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Stadium

The champion and now Dubai’s favorite tennis star Roger Federer made his heartfelt appearance when he visited the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Stadium for a practice session on Thursday.

Aiming for a record eighth title, Federer, at next week’s Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships, practiced on Court 9 from noon until 3 pm. Before returning to his apartment in Dubai Marina he went for a quick bite at the players’ lounge.

Federer and Nadal return to strike next week at the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships and Mexican Open next week, where Federer is a seven-time champion.

Federer has made a record by winning seven titles in Dubai, starting from a hat-trick between the years 2003 to 2005 and followed by another four crowns in 2007, 2012, 2014 and 2015. Due to his early loss in 2016 and 2017 and didn’t come here last year.

Stefanos Tsitsipas won against Federer and after the Greek youngster’s victory in the fourth round while Federer defending his Australian Open crown. At that time Federer made a happening announcement that he is looking at a return on clay with the Madrid Masters and French Open.

In the coming week, Federer will be playing his first competitive match since last lost match against Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Australian Open fourth round last month.

Taking the tennis fans to another level of excitement the tournament CEO and vice chairman Colm McLoughlin announced that he is thrilled to have the Swiss star back at the event and it will be a great experience to see him win his 100th career title. In a statement, he stated that “I think we’re far from seeing Novak being done and I’ve stopped betting that I know anything about Roger because I’ve been wrong 50 times.”

Other stars also to join Federer and Nadal next week at the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships and Mexican Open next week. Djokovic, the winner of Laureus’ Sportsman of the Year award on Monday, will make a comeback at the first Masters 1000 event of the year in Indian Wells, which begins on March 7.

Murray is unfortunate to miss and is recovering from hip surgery with the aim of returning at Wimbledon.
