The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced temporary road closures on November 24, Sunday, in Dubai to accommodate the Dubai Run, a key event in the city’s annual fitness challenge. The roads will be closed from 3:30 AM to 10:30 AM as the race needs to avoid any mishaps with the participants and ensure it runs smoothly.
The road closures on November 24 include the following routes:
- Between the Trade Centre roundabout and the second bridge- Sheikh Zayed Road
- Al Sukook Street between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Boursa Street
- Between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road: Lower Financial Centre Road
- Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard-one way
To facilitate the movement of motorists and save them considerable time, the RTA has devised alternative routes while passing through these roads. Residents and commuters are advised to take one of the following detours:
- Financial Centre Road: Level upper
- Zaabeel Palace Street
- Al Mustaqbal Road
- Al Wasl Road
- Al Khail Road
- Al Badaa Street
Residents and visitors are advised to plan their journey ahead of time with these alternative roads and avoid these delays. The RTA further advised those intending to visit the city during this racing day to check the information, ensuring smooth travel experience.
The Dubai Run will be part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge. Thousands of participants will run through the city’s iconic streets; two routes will be available: a 5km route for families and beginners, and a 10km route for seasoned runners.
