RTA Installs Smart Gates on Dubai-Hatta Road to Enhance Safety

The Roads and Transport Authority have unveiled a new initiative announcing the installation of smart electronic gates along the Dubai-Hatta road and other key roads in desert areas. For this new initiative, which is going to be officially unveiled on Monday, has promised to give effective traffic flow control to prevent the unintended trespassing of stray animals into roadways, thus potentially eliminating accidental occurrence features.

The ingenious walls installed will prevent animals from straying and improve the general safety of the roads around Dubai. That is to say, it is dedicated to reducing the possibilities of road incidents that are the result of encountering animals on highways. This is critical for such sections, such as the Dubai-Hatta road, because of the unique challenges wildlife and desert terrain n present to drivers.

It also coincides with the long-term vision of RTA to develop a modern transportation infrastructure within the emirate. The authority announced that additional smart gates installation will continue in 2025 and will extend the system’s reach to cover other strategic areas in Dubai.

Such an initiative forms part of a larger initiative for the UAE to deploy highly advanced technology in road safety. It is similar to the recently activated smart monitoring system in the emirate of Ajman on 1 October, which intends to use cameras that employ artificial intelligence to identify traffic violations. The system, which includes 26 locations with electronic gates, is intended to include offences like using a cell phone while driving and not wearing a seatbelt. The goal is to curb traffic violations and make roads safer for both drivers and pedestrians.

In keeping with the announcement of its most recent initiative with the smart gates, Dubai stands behind its use of contemporary technologies for improving road safety and traffic management. These investments in technology for the city’s transportation infrastructure will then assist in further reducing accidents while ensuring smooth movement of traffic for all its users.
