Be it the scorching heat or the rainy season, you see delivery riders up to task all around the city. In an effort to provide relief amidst these scorching temperatures, Dubai delivery riders are soon to have access to air-to-water dispensers that will be able to generate around 100 liters of drinking water per day.
The Road Transport Authority in Dubai for this venture has partnered with the Majid Al Futtaim Group and will to install three high-tech water dispensers across the city.
The dispensers work by extracting humidity from the air, purifying it, and filling up bottles of water, providing a sustainable way to keep delivery drivers cool and hydrated in-between deliveries.
The initiative also includes the creation of 40 air-conditioned rest zones for outdoor workers a further development.
Speaking about the Dubai water dispensers, Abdullah Yousef Al Ali, CEO of the RTA Licensing Agency said:
“This partnership is a testament to the Authority’s commitment to working with the private sector to provide essential enablers to ensure the safety of delivery bike riders, which contributes to providing a safe and comfortable transportation system for all residents and visitors in Dubai, and embodies the practice of social responsibility values on the part of Majid Al Futtaim Group.”
“This sustainable solution not only provides safe drinking water for delivery bike riders but also contributes to reducing the environmental footprint, “ he added.
