Samsung took wraps off the Galaxy S24 series at the first Galaxy Unpacked event of 2024. As expected, the company unveiled three phones. The trio arrives with minute design changes and some spec upgrades. The devices are up for pre-order in several markets with shipping commencing as early as next week.
The newly launched S24 series comes in three variants – Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24, and will be available in the UAE later this month. However, pre-orders for the UAE and Gulf consumers began on Wednesday evening. Depending on the storage capacity of the models, prices for the base models range between Dh3,199 and Dh3,499; Plus has been priced between Dh3,899 and Dh4,399; while Ultra will cost between Dh5,099 and Dh6,599. Samsung’s Galaxy series and Apple’s iPhone are among the most sought-after launches that consumers in the UAE and around the world look forward to.
The devices are equipped with intelligent text and call translations as well as offering new and unique search options for consumers while browsing the internet. The live call translation will also be a major advantage for the frequent fliers from the UAE.

Samsung is also offering seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates. Importantly, the Galaxy S24 is also the first Galaxy S series to be designed with recycled steel and Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU). Galaxy S24 Ultra features a minimum of 40 per cent recycled steel in the speakers, and it includes a minimum of 10 per cent pre-consumer recycled TPU in the side and volume keys. Additionally, every Galaxy S24 comes in a packaging box made from 100 per cent recycled paper material.
Unlike the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+, the Ultra uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in every market. It’s once again a ‘for Galaxy’ variant with, presumably, a higher-clocked Prime core. Samsung has put a nearly twice as big vapor chamber inside the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which will help thermal performance across all tasks.
The new chip has enabled a whole host of AI features on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Live Translate, Interpreter, and Chat Assist enable two-way real-time voice and text translation. Live Translate lives inside the native phone app, Interpreter is a split-screen app that transcripts live conversations between two people in two different languages. Chat Assist helps make translated conversations natural and lives inside the Samsung Keyboard. These features work in 13 languages at launch.
Android Auto will summarize incoming messages and suggest replies – sending someone your ETA, for instance. Transcript Assist will transcribe, summarize, and translate recordings using AI and Speech-to-Text. Circle to Search is a gesture-driven feature made in collaboration with Google. Just long press on the home button and you’ll be able to circle, highlight, scribble on, or tap anything on the screen to get search results – like the name of the landmark in the background of someone’s photo in Instagram.
