Saudi Arabia’s Female Bikers gear up for Lifting of Driving Ban

Women in Saudi Arabia gather weekly at the privately owned Bikers Skills Institute to learn how to ride bikes.

A 31 year old Noura grew up watching her family riding bikes and a 19 year old Saudi born Jordanian Leen Tinawi explained the whole experience of riding a bike in one word that is freedom.

Both bikers follow their Ukrainian instructor, A 39 year old Elena Bukaryeva, who rides a Harley-Davidson.

The main issue is that female motorists are worried for their dress code because abaya robes could get caught up in the wheels.

Many women also complain that female instructors are in short supply and that classes are expensive.
