The General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage in Tabuk region issued three licenses to the first time to three Saudi women to work as tour guides in the region after passing the intensive course which focused on the topics related to the profession of tourism guidance.
The Director-General of the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage in Tabuk Region, Dr. Mabrouk Al-Shilaibi awarded license as professional guides to Hiba Mohammed Al-Aidi, Nada Saleh Al-Enezi, and Hanan Hatem Al-Humaidi.
Dr. Mabrouk Al-Shilaibi affirmed that the issuance of licenses for tourism guides comes as a result of women’s empowerment and effective work in the society and also to enable them to find diverse employment opportunities to Saudi women during the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Highness the Crown Prince – All that contributes to enabling them to participate in the development of economic, social and cultural movement in the Kingdom.
Dr. Mabrouk pointed out that a tour guide is like an ambassador in the homeland, and has a distinctive and prominent role in forming a positive impression of the whole tour of the Kingdom of the heritage of the great cultural and historical importance on the mind of tourists, which contributes to the reversal of an honorable image of our dear country.

He also pointed out that the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage is keen to improve the profession of the tour guide, by subjecting those wishing to practice this profession before obtaining the tourist guidance license for an intensive course covering various topics related to the profession of tourism guidance, as well as developing and updating the communication skills, and interaction with the group.
