The Sharjah Tourism and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) yesterday unveiled the Sharjah Lights Festival 2019 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. The viewer took a unique journey to explore the rich culture of the Emirate of Sharjah and learn about the evolution of civilizations and societies.
The ninth edition attracted a great number of visitors and tourists who enjoyed the dazzling displays of spectacular visual paintings in the skies of Sharjah, signed by a group of international artists who embodied the theme of “Culture and Family” with artistic creations for 11 consecutive days.
Vital Pillars
The Sharjah Lights Festival has once again proved to be a vital pillar of the festival and events sector in the Emirate of Sharjah, which contributes to the growth of the tourism sector and the diversification of the components of economic development. The 2019 session attracted more than 1,200,000 visitors with a 20% growth, compared to 1 million last year, to attend 20 unique displays, which feature 17 locations across the emirate in color and light.
The current session was characterized by a series of light shows, which showed the creativity of international artists in the use of modern optical technology in innovative ways, including graphic designs, calligraphy, and colors mixed with each other and accompanied with music.
