Revision of fees for the release of vehicles impounded for serious traffic violations has been introduced in Sharjah. This applies to all types of vehicles but is particularly directed at offenses including reckless driving and carelessness that endanger public safety and property. The fees are intended to ease the process for vehicle owners to reclaim their vehicles at the end of the legal impounding period.
Details of revision of fees have yet to be announced. Nevertheless, it is said to be in line with the continuous efforts of Sharjah in dealing with the traffic violations fairly and constructively. On the other hand, it would pull the load off the shoulder of the drivers while keeping a strict posture against dangerous driving that threatens the community.
This is the time when traffic safety has become a growing concern all over the emirates, with authorities ramping up efforts to crack down on reckless driving for safer roads all. Long offenders on the list are severe ones like over speeding, inebriated driving, and other forms of carelessness. The new fee structure is expected to work as deterrent as well as a more practical way of dealing with impounded vehicles.
Even those initiatives were mentored by the environmental programs managed under the Sharjah Executive Council headed by Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. The session focused on several key issues, including the review of government departments performance and efforts to bolster the emirate’s financial sector. The Council also discussed several environmental initiatives, including plans to minimize the use of single-use plastics and promote sustainability.
In addition, the Sharjah Executive Council emphasized community involvement as an essential element for developing innovative environmental practices. Sharjah supporters will make sure that Sharjah continues to be a leading example for health and environmental matters. The Council is thus working hands in gloves with the bigger picture for the emirate regarding better quality living for its people, safety, and promoting sustainable practices across all spheres.
