The one-of-a-kind start-up dubbed SweetcHome, an online property dating service in the UAE announced that it has successfully conducted the first ever ‘home swap’ in the UAE.
SweetcHome is an AI-focused Proptech firm that delivers an uncomplicated method for users to search for properties that are a perfect match for their needs.
A couple of clients remain renting under such tenancy agreements; recently, they found each other on SweetcHome’s platform and swapped their homes. It is the first instance where the tenants dissatisfied with the type of house they are renting or its location can easily swap houses with other tenants in the UAE.

The SweetcHome’s first successful customer, Imen, registered in the website in the middle of the year in April, she created an account with an intention and desire to be provided a new home together with her pets. She was residing in a high rise apartment in JBR with her three pets and have realized the need for more space. Imen’s requirement was a villa with a garden view, however, main problem was she had 3 months of her original tenancy agreement left before she could renew it.
Corresponding with the search for a villa where Imen’s criteria could be matched, the SweetcHome team also started the search for a new tenant for the apartment in JBR.
Thus, with the help of SweetcHome, Imen could find a compatible candidate for tenancy and rent a lovely villa in The Springs even if her current apartment agreement was not over.
The new long-term tenant for the JBR property was identified within two viewings, and the overall switch between Imen and the new tenant of the three-bed just took three weeks.
Commenting on the experience, Imen said: “SweetcHome assisted me achieve that goal of finding a new home within my contract and a new tenant to replace me. Finding a new place as well as new tenant on my own would have been a huge challenge. This way it was very smooth and everyone benefited, me the new tenant, and my landlord who got a quality tenant who does not have to worry about his house being vacant. In addition to all this, I was also able to save money and reduce my commute time by 15 minutes.”
