The Emirates’ Visa Amnesty Program Gets Extended Until 31st December 2024

Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) announced on Thursday that the Emirates are extending the country’s two month visa amnesty program which means, the program now will close on December 31st. It was first opened on September 1. Previously set to close on 31st October. According to the program, all individuals are allowed to ammend or regularize their status so that they would be released from penalties.

Maj-Gen Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, ICP director general, said that this decision is part of the 53rd Union Day celebrations in the UAE and is proof of the commitment of the nation towards humanitarian values. “This decision responds to the desires of those wishing to rectify their status, whether by departing or obtaining new employment contracts,” he said.

The visa amnesty program has been widely embraced with many people realizing the chance to clear any residency problem. Al Khaili underscored the fact that this extension acts as the last opportunity, and any violator will end up paying the fines not to face re-entry. He further cautioned that they will reimpose fines in the aftermath of the period and take serious measures by increasing penalties on violators.

This is the fourth visa amnesty since 2007, and will be accepted at ICP centers, approved typing centers, or online
