UAE: ‘1-day test’ for driver’s license announced in new scheme

A new program has been launched by Fujairah to enable some candidates to be trained and issued with the license within one day. National service recruits in Fujairah can now get a driver’s license through a fast-track procedure where the theoretical examination, eye test and road test are all done in one day, the police said on Wednesday.

The recruits must be high school graduates to qualify for the benefits offered by the initiative, the authorities stated in the announcement. Similar measures were taken by Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah last year. Subsequently, Sharjah Police shared that, over a two-week period, 194 male and female recruits across the emirate took advantage of the One-Day Test’ Initiative.
