Starting July 9, the number of trips from Ajman to Abu Dhabi by public buses will be increased to four daily trips, Apta, the Ajman Public Transport Authority informed on X on Monday, July 8.
Four buses will be bound for Abu Dhabi coming from Ajman while two others will be for Ajman coming from Abu Dhabi.
The bus trip will be from Al Musalla Station to Abu Dhabi Bus Station and then back to Al Musalla Station- with the first bus leaving Ajman at 7am and the last bus at 7pm. Services start at 10am from Abu Dhabi while the last trip will be at 9 30pm in the evening.
The bus ticket is for Dh35 and it is within the Masaar card.
Following the changes on the Abu Dhabi line, the authority stated that they had to increase the number of routes to cater for the requirements of the public.
To the commuting public’s added assistance, the Ajman Bus-on-demand (BOD) service, which was temporarily halted on June 4, is once again up and running.
Operative from 6 in the morning up to 11 in the evening, the BOD minibuses provided by the Transport Authority reduce the wait time of those going to work or commuting and also aids in the reduction of traffic jams. Passenger seating on the bus is through an app and its path is immediately decided based on service demand.
All the commuter needs to do is to state his/her present location and intended destination and the application powered by AI then determines the nearest point from which they can board the bus.
Users are charged Dh7 each for the service through the application. The service can be booked for more than one person and in that regard Dh4 is charged per the extra person to a maximum of four persons.
