The Embassy of India in UAE and the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MoCCAE) have signed an agreement to support the initiative ‘beat plastic pollution’ on the occasion of World Environment Day at MOCCAE headquarters in Dubai on Tuesday.
The UAE consumed 13 billion plastic bags and approximately 450 billion plastic bottles last year and on the other hand India consumes 13 million tonnes of plastic every year.
The private companies which took the undertaking included Aster DM Healthcare, the Apparel Group and Lulu Group. The companies also commit that they will reduce plastic consumption.
