Public transportation in Dubai works efficiently under the vigilant eye and strict regulations of the Road and Transport Authority (RTA). Apart from Dubai Tram and Metro services, the city’s bus service is quite comfortable with an extensive network all over the emirate. However, successful operation of these public buses requires some rules and regulations to be in place along with their implementation – a task taken care of effectively by the RTA.
There are more than 1500 public buses running across Dubai on around 100 routes. These buses are made comfortable for the passengers with air-conditioning, display screens with bus stop details and accommodation for People of Determination with spaces for wheelchair users and dedicated entrances. In the same vein, RTA Dubai has set rules for the passengers to ensure everyone’s safety and comfort. In case of non-compliance, bus fines are charged.
