UAE Announces New Golden Visa Program for Teachers and School Leaders in Ras Al Khaimah

Ras Al Khaimah has launched the new Golden Visa program, which has been developed to attract and retain qualified educators within the emirate. The new initiative was unveiled by the Ras Al Khaimah Department of Knowledge (RAK DOK), which will provide long-term, self-sponsored residency for qualified teachers and school leaders in private schools.

There are two main categories targeted by the program: school leaders such as principals, vice principals, school directors, and qualified teachers who have been working in the private schools of RAK. The applicant must have served within the emirate for more than three years, possess higher qualifications like a master’s or PhD, and contribute well to their school’s performance.

It is compulsory to enclose documents that include a letter of appointment from the school administration, proof of qualification, and efforts toward enhancing school performance results while applying for a Golden Visa. After the submission of an application, the RAK DOK reviews for eligibility criteria and then communicates to the applicant, advising them to proceed with the processing of their Golden Visa through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP). At least two weeks would be needed to complete the review process.

The launch of the new visa initiative underlines the role teachers play in improving quality education in Ras Al Khaimah. “The program falls within the scope of efforts by the region to create a world-class education system to retain talent to be productive towards the emirate’s long-term educational success,” said Dr Abdulrahman Al Naqbi, member of the board of RAK DOK.

Notably, it is open for all nationalities teaching, and upon approval, their families-spouses, parents, and children-can also benefit from long-term residence. The program aims to create a more stable and supportive environment for the educators with due recognition of their role in molding the future students in Ras Al Khaimah.
