UAE employers aiming at multiplicity employments, say HR headhunters

Recruitment firms in UAE indicate that, recently, more and more organizations have begun to focus on demographic diversity during hiring. The headhunters also felt that it was high time that companies in the country adopted the practice of ‘cultural competency training’ to increase productivity of people in organizations that operates in a culturally diverse environment.

The firms stressed that, given that the UAE is rapidly growing into the regional powerhouse of the Middle East, the focus on diversity hiring has never been more relevant.

Zaidan Alali – Co-founder at M. Recruitment Professionals added that, today, many employers in the UAE are mandating diversity across their organisations to the head of HR/GHR. They noted that companies in all industry types understand that diversity and inclusion are not just added values but imperatives for survival, and for global alignment with the UAE’s sustainability missions.

Professional in the industry reported that steps towards the diversification of the employee base in the country are on the rise, though the experts argued that the move is as a result of the technological advancement as well as the changes in the socio- economic structure.

However, as this trend progresses, some businesses fail to establish the right environment in terms of culture This results in various businesses experiences challenges and at times, failures hence the UAE businesses must embrace cultural competence training as a way of improving the ability of their employees when it comes to working in a multicultural environment This goes beyond the awareness but focuses on deeper understanding and useful solutions regarding culture, Alali explained.

”As the UAE begins its journey to become a technological hub, we have noticed clients focusing on Ethnic Eastern European jobseekers intending to work in crypto related positions along with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Software Developers, some management positions which have operation backgrounds in the finance and the health sector.”

Benefits of a diverse work force

The HR firms stated that diversity increases the firms’ capacity to provide the market with differentiated solutions and optimum performance to both its clients and candidates across the global market.

“When we work on headhunt our clients, we commit ourselves to provide at least three suitable diversified candidates to give our clients options to select from,” said Alhiali.” We really are bullish on that in this part of the world,” We are privileged to be the recruitment partners to large multinationals; therefore, have the potential to write the future of UAE and contribute to its prosperity in a direct manner since we are recruiting prospective leaders, builders.”

Although candidates in all countries perceive UAE as an attractive foreign country with good employment prospects as far as employment opportunity is concerned, employers are faced with few challenges.

He was supported by Azeem Ahmed, Senior HR officer, Hd Group who said, ‘Many companies are predominantly or have only one or two nationalities in the workforce as they are high in numbers in the country.’

Underlining the advantages of a diverse workforce, Ahmed said: “It has a better impact on the companies and the country as having different national working from different origins provide different skills, experiences, and ability set skills in the organization There is improved innovation, problem-solving skills and employer branding, understanding the mindset of the employer.”

Rana Farouk Ali Abdelnabi, Senior Manager of capacity and Capability Management, at Emirates NBD Bank, added: “We are also emphasizing diversity as it is a key factor of a good workplace It just covers a gender issue but it has gender, cultural, and age diversity.”

She mentioned to her by accepting diversity, a signal is given to all that the company is sensitive and responsive to equal rights.

“In my observation, there has been an observation, a possibility of an increase in hiring quality since it is now possible to pool skill set from various diverse sources hence niche talents from various sources would produce better quality delivery and thus, organization outcomes.”
