UAE Launches First Regulated Lottery with Dh100 Million Grand Prize

The UAE has officially launched its first and only regulated lottery operation, giving residents a chance to win a Dh100 million grand prize. Managed by The Game LLC, an Abu Dhabi-based operator licensed by the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA), the lottery’s first live draw is scheduled for December 14, 2024.

The new lottery, available to UAE residents of 18 years and above, offers various interesting games. Tickets are available for purchase online on the official website: theuaelottery.ae. The main attraction is the Dh100 million jackpot for the “Lucky Day” game with seven assured “Lucky Chance ID” prizes of Dh100,000 each. Tickets cost Dh50 each.

The amount of prize money ranges from Dh100 to Dh100 million grand prize depending on the matched numbers. A player can either choose their numbers or rely on the ‘Easy Pick’ facility that generates a set randomly. Scratch cards priced between Dh5 and Dh50 also offer instant prizes of up to Dh1 million.

The lottery, which complies with the highest regulatory standards, also provides a safe and responsible gaming experience. The Game is only available online currently but will soon be made available for retail sales.

Jim Murren, GCGRA chairman, added that the regulated framework ensures the process is fair and transparent for the lottery. Bishop Woosley, director of Lottery Operations at The Game, mentioned that the company is committed to responsible play. The lottery is tax-free, and all proceeds will go towards the UAE’s growing commercial gaming environment.
