The ‘one-day test’ offer that was popular among residents of Sharjah and Fujairah to get the driving license for their car is now in a third emirate.
In this regard, Ras Al Khaimah has implemented an initiative in the police force under the Centre for Traffic and Licensing at the Automotive and Driver Licensing Department to issue driver licenses for national service recruits.
The fast-tracked procedure, planned to occur between July and December 2024, has a smooth flow which allows eye-test, internal and outside practical tests every day, according to the police of the emirate.
The official of Ras al Khaimah police, Colonel Saqir bin Sultan Al-Qasimi, the Director of the Department of machinery and Driver Licensing said that the one-day test service has been introduced to avoid the wasted time and energy of the soldiers of the national service to get through the driving license for several days.
Setting theory, internal and the on-road test all to be conducted in a single day and passing the theory examination, having the necessary training hours, the assessment and expressway tests will enable one to gain the driving license in a single day.
National service soldiers are encouraged to embrace the opportunity for which there is a guide in the MOI app on the measures to be followed and procedures to be taken during the period of national service.
A similar endeavor was started in Fujairah in June this year. The recruits should be high school graduates to obtain benefits of the given initiative, the authorities stated.
Sharjah too introduced the one-day driving test last year. The One-Day Test’ Initiative was received by 194 both male and female trainees from Sharjah Police where within the course of two weeks the bodycam footage proved beneficial.
