The Emirates has introduced the latest UAE Online Visa Service to invite friends and family to the country for a visit for a maximum duration of 90 days by the resident. This is made possible by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security’s website and mobile application, where individuals can choose whether they want a single entry or multiple entries. This kind of visa can take a duration of a month to ninety days, with an entry legitimized for up to sixty days from the time of issue, with a possibility of extending stay.
An applicant can do this by logging in using their digital identity, choosing the type and period of the visa needed, and validating their information. The applicants need to meet the following conditions: A valid passport of at least 6 months, a travel ticket, valid health insurance, and the inviting person is a UAE national or foreign resident but employed at the first or second level as classified by the authority need to be a citizen or foreign resident of the UAE.
According to Maj Gen Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, director general of the authority, this program is primarily designed to facilitate the reunification of families and has further motives connected to improving the quality of life for residents and visitors. However, it does put one in penalties for overstaying and breach of the rules specified for the visa. It is a step that endorses what the UAE is trying to achieve through strengthening family ties and enhancing the overall experience of visitors.
