UAE Pledges $200,000 to UN Refugee Programme for 2025

The United Arab Emirates has pledged $200,000, or about Dh734,600, to life-saving programs for the UN Refugee Programme in 2025. The contribution, announced Wednesday, underlines the continued commitment of the UAE to helping displaced people around the world.

Jamal Al Musharakh, the UAE’s Permanent Representative to the UN and other international organizations in Geneva stated that this donation will serve the mission of the UNHCR in saving millions. “In support of this mission, we reiterate our commitment to these principles of humanity and dignity for all,” said Al Musharakh.

Filippo Grandi, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, thanked the UAE for the warm support. He welcomed and appreciated the country’s significance in alleviating the sufferings of refugees and in the provision of critical assistance.

This was done during the UNHCR’s annual pledging conference where donor countries pledge to finance the activities of the organization in providing help for the refugees and displaced persons globally. This contribution from the UAE continues its long history of humanitarian aid and emphasizes the importance of global cooperation in solving the refugee crisis.
